  • Hubert van Wensen joins to lead Dutch account teams

    Hubert van Wensen (1973) Joins Amsterdam-based BSUR as client services director to lead the Dutch account teams. Van Wensen comes to BSUR from AJAX, the famous Amsterdam football club, where he spent the past two years as the commercial manager.

    After studying law at the University of Leiden, van Wensen began working as a product manager for Nestlé Netherlands. By the turn of the millennium, at the age of 27, he had launched his own agency, ‘New Message’, with two others. Here he took a multi-disciplinary role as the strategic, creative and account partner.

    With New Message, van Wensen helped build successful platforms for entrepreneurial brands such as SuitSupply, Hartevelt, Dirk van den Broek and Binckbank. He also helped create the Johnny Loco brand (www.johnny-loco.com), a lifestyle brand which continues to be successful in a number of countries.

    After 7 years, van Wensen accepted an assignment at Lowe/Draft FCB as Chief Guerilla Officer. Bridging both communications and activation he worked for Delta Lloyd, Plus Supermarkets and Weightwatchers.

    During his time with Ajax, van Wensen was responsible for all marketing, sponsorship and other tailor-made commercial activities. Under his leadership, the team launched the Ajax Experience Center in Amsterdam’s famous Rembrandtplein. He helped create and implement the concept from the initial idea through to the grand opening just a couple of months ago.
